Editing a Contract After Sending

What happens when you need to modify a contract that's already been sent for signatures.

2 min readE-Signatures

Once a contract is sent for e-signature, you cannot edit it directly. Here's how to make changes.

The Void-and-Resend Flow

  1. Open the purchase page for the contract
  2. Click "Void" to cancel the current envelope (this invalidates all existing signatures)
  3. Edit the contract text or details as needed
  4. Click "Send for E-Signature" again (uses another GigPack — Buy GigPacks)
  5. Client receives a new signing email

Important Notes

  • Voiding is permanent — you cannot undo it
  • The client's old signing link becomes invalid
  • You'll need to use another GigPack to resend
  • Both parties must sign again from scratch

When to Void

  • Wrong client email address
  • Contract terms need to change
  • Wrong fee amount or date
  • Need to add or remove clauses

Alternative: Minor Issues

If the issue is minor and both parties agree, you may not need to void. For example, if a venue name has a typo but the address is correct, consider whether voiding and re-signing is worth the effort.
