Custom line items let you add extra charges to invoices beyond the standard performance fee, deposit, and balance. This is a Pro feature.
What Are Custom Line Items?
Line items are additional charges that appear on your invoices, receipts, and payment schedules. Common examples include:
- Equipment rental
- Sound engineer fee
- Parking and tolls
- Lighting setup
- Gratuity
- Materials and supplies
Each line item has a description and a dollar amount.
Adding Line Items to a Gig
- Open the gig details for a contract
- Scroll to the Custom Line Items section
- Click "Add line item" or use the quick-add suggestion buttons
- Enter a description and dollar amount
- Click Save to apply
Quick-add suggestions are tailored to your performer type — for example, performers using the Musician type see "Sound Engineer" and "Equipment Rental," while DJs see "Lighting Setup."
Default Line Items
Save line items you use frequently so you can load them with one click:
- Go to Dashboard > Settings > Business Profile
- Scroll to Default Invoice Line Items
- Add your commonly used items and amounts
- Click Save
From the gig details, click "Load my defaults" to apply your saved defaults. This replaces the current line items with your defaults.
How They Appear on Documents
Custom line items are listed individually on:
- Payment schedules — Each item shown with its amount
- Invoices — Included in the total breakdown
- Receipts — Reflected in the total paid
Line item amounts are added to the balance (not the deposit). The total on all documents reflects the base fee plus all line items.
Limits
- Maximum 20 line items per contract
- Description: up to 100 characters each
- Items with a blank description or $0 amount are filtered out on save
