| vCard (.vcf) | iPhone, Android, Gmail, Outlook | Standard contact format (v3.0, v4.0 supported) |
Import Limits
- File size: 5 MB maximum
- Contacts per import: 2,000 maximum
- Imports per hour: 5 maximum
CSV Import
- Upload a CSV file with contact information
- The first row must be a header row (Name, Email, Phone, Organization)
- GigOrganizer auto-detects common column name variations (e.g., "Full Name", "Email Address", "Mobile")
- Duplicates are detected and skipped
- Download a template if you need a starting point
vCard Import
Export contacts from your phone:
- iPhone: Contacts app → Select contacts → Share → Export vCard
- Android: Contacts app → Menu → Export → vCard format
- Gmail: Contacts > Export > vCard format
Upload the .vcf file. Multiple contacts in one file are supported. vCard captures additional fields: title, full address (street, city, state, ZIP, country).
Duplicate Handling
Duplicates are detected by normalized email (case-insensitive) or normalized phone (digits only, country code stripped). Matching contacts are skipped, not updated.
Contact to Team Member
When adding a team member to a gig:
- Search your contacts by name or email
- Select a contact to auto-fill their details
- The contact is "promoted" to a team member automatically
- Future gigs can find them in both Contacts and My Team
Common Questions
Do contacts sync with my phone?
No, import is one-way (phone to GigOrganizer).
What happens to duplicates?
Skipped during import — matched by normalized email or phone.
Why did my CSV import fail?
Check: header row present, file under 5MB, comma-separated, UTF-8 encoding.
